Governing Factors

Governing factors determine the shape of things.

An Islands shape is determined by what sticks out of the water but  my life's shape is determined by other factors.   One can control the shape of a tiny low island very easily.   It would take an upheaval to control the shape of a continent because so much of it sticks out of the water and much of it's coastline is cliffs.   Its hard to control the shape of a cliffy coastline.  It's changing because the cliffs often have landslides but you can't stop the landslides and only a little slides down at a time. Yet an Island that is low to the water and close to sea level can be shaped by man himself.  This is being done in the Netherlands (though it's not an island its very low land.  Netherlands means lowlands.  They are so low that some of the land is below sea level.  It's kept from being underwater by the dikes.  By building dikes they can vastly increase the land area.  The idea is that because the Netherlands is close to sea level neither far above or far below it is easy for them to change the shape of their country.     Hawaii however is a mountain that sticks out of the sea and this is very hard to control and the shape stays the same and doesn't change.  God could do it but it would be a huge miracle.  Someone who only obeys his own desires and doesn't think of the desires of others is very hard to control.  The Father is in control of everything sort of like the author of the Book.  Jesus though he is God is also a character in the book.   Authors create the illusion of real characters by giving those characters characteristics and personalities and often an author will think of a character as taking over because it's clear to the author what that character will do in every situation.  Stephen King thinks of himself more like an archeologist than a creator.  He "discovers his stories in that he tries to follow the characters and events as they would naturally flow.   If those characters then were real people and Stephen King was the author they would themselves have the illusion that they had free will.  In other words since they always do what is in their nature.    In reality every thought you think the Father put there.  However he's merely paying attention and following along in a sense to writing your story based on your personality.  This is more the case with someone who doesn't follow his conscience.  Who doesn't question his own behavior but rather stubbornly goes his own way.   The one who repents changes directions.   Someone who follows rules or tries to will sometimes go one way and sometimes another.

A Christian's  life may seem to be out of control like the wind because he's controlled by his intellect and by whims and ideas and the weighing of right vs wrong.   Jesus said that no one knows where the wind comes from and where it is going but actually the Father is in total control of the wind.  Even the father doesn't manipulate the lives of normal people and continents a lot.   He's in control but they are predictable and not just the Father knows where they are going and what they are doing because it's easy to predict.  Those are set but a christian being that he is never sure what he will do is like a car in the hands of the Father.  His every action is controlled like a finely tuned automobile.  You may think your life has taken a bizarre turn and indeed it has but it is being used by the father to control other events.   It's like the guilt of Rubin that fine tuned the brother's anger and caused him to send Joseph to Egypt rather than allowing him to die.

No one knows where the wind comes from and where it is going:  it's the same with someone born of the Spirit.   However someone does know where the wind goes and where it is going and someone also knows where the one born of the Spirit is going. Father knows.
